Our son, wife and 2 small children lived in the house for a week and very much enjoyed it. It was only a block from a park with playground equipment and had a yard full of deer which the kids loved to watch. The large yard was a good place for my grandson to play catch. With 3 bedrooms, each child had their own bedroom which they enjoyed. The family room had a pool table and a big screen TV which my grandson loved, and many books, games and puzzles which my granddaughter enjoyed. My son, a chef, enjoyed cooking in the big kitchen. The house was only a five minute drive from our house on the butte, which made it very convenient. It’s also only a few minutes from Newport Ave which has many restaurants and a good grocery store, and is close to down town. They would definitely stay there again on a return visit.

My partner, our dog, and my parents shared a weekend here, and it was fantastic! Caroline and Doug were extremely accommodating and attentive to our needs, and very friendly to talk to.

The location was very convenient for accessing Smith State Park, where my partner and I were doing some climbing over the weekend. It's also only ~15 minutes into Bend to find virtually anything you could find want for.

My partner and I loved our week in the Bend Hideaway  home. It had everything we needed to relax. Kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed grilling in the backyard in the evenings and our dog loved being able to run freely in the fenced yard. It was the perfect location for exploring all that Bend has to offer, from bike trails, hikes, beer and cider tasting and exploring the town. I can’t recommend this vacation home enough. We will most definitely be returning. Oh! And the deer wandering through the front yard in the mornings and evenings was an added bonus! Also, there is an off leash dog park just down the street with trails to explore with your pup. The owner pays attention to details and is very attentive if you have any questions.

My time at the Rocking CR Ranch was fantasic.  I was originally supposed to be with my best friend and at the last minute she was unable to go.  I decided to go anyway with just myself and my dog, Marley  I are so glad that we did!!  This was the perfect get away that I needed!  Caroline and Doug were so welcoming and friendly.  There were 5 acres for my amazing dog to run her heart out!  It was peacful and beautiful and I spent much of my time outside.  Doug and Caroline suggested some beautiful hikes that Marley and I really enjoyed.  I will definately be back and the next time it will be with both of my best friends!!  Thank you so much Caroline and Doug!!

Our stay at Caroline and Doug's guesthouse was wonderful. They were kind and welcoming, and the property beautiful. The entire space is kid friendly and was the perfect resting and playing space for our family (with a 1 and 4 year old and pet) to start and end the day. Bend, sisters, smith rock, sun river....all so close.
All and all, we just can't wait to come back!

Great get away spot! We had a lovely stay at this clean, nice cottage, the Ranch Guesthouse. The bed is comfy and cottage stocked with everything you need. 2 BR, 1 BA with open kitchen - living room. Dogs welcome and ours played with the owners and their dogs who live in main house close by. Big fields on property and gorgeous views of the Cascades' 3 Sisters mountains. Nice walks on roads surrounding property and Deschutes River. Tumalo State Park a few miles away, the fun town of Sisters about 10 miles. Bend is 10 miles too. 3/27.2021

We had a wonderful stay at this hidden hills hideaway. We were there during the Thanksgiving holiday to visit family. Oregon was on a two week pause during our stay, but we still had plenty to do. There was a park half a block down the street, a pool table, plenty of board games for the kids and just sitting in the living room watching the deer pass by was amazing. The fenced backyard was perfect for our two golden retrievers.

Caroline and Doug's ranch was a great place to stay with our dog. The field was huge, all fenced in and on a quiet street. Their dogs were friendly. The house was very clean and comfortable. Caroline and Doug were incredibly welcoming and even loaned us their grill for the night. It was a great place to relax and hang outside. We would definitely recommend it and will be back!

The house was great. The location is a little farther out then we usually stay so we did a little more driving at night but it was a great location. The house was clean and perfect for our dog. With a higher backyard and a walkable off leash dog park(and great playground if you have kids). The house was perfect for the four of us. The kids got their own rooms... and the game room was nice for a little hangout time. The house had everything we needed and as a total bonus there was a herd of elk deer that came around daily. Stay here, you will love it.

Great for the entire family!
We were in town for a baseball tournament and it was nice to have a house with some space for everyone and a nice kitchen to cook in. The house was a in a good location- close drive to many things in Bend but not too big of a drive to Redmond for games. The pool table/game room was a big hit with our teens too!

We had a wonderful time at the Rocking CR Guest House! The ranch property is stunning, with views at the front of the property of the Sisters mountains, and gorgeous wide-open rural scenery. The guest house is fantastic. It is charming, and very comfortable. It was excellent for our family of four, with two small children. There was plenty of space for everyone to settle in comfortably. The location is perfect for exploring in and around Bend. It's just a short, ten minute drive into downtown Bend, and a short drive to great trail heads and snow play for the kids. We visited at the very beginning of spring, and experienced some light leftover winter weather, which was beautiful. We can't wait to return in the summer. There is so much family fun in this area of Central Oregon year round, and Rocking CR Guest House is an awesome place to stay. I highly recommend this place for families, solo travelers, or couples. I had the pleasure of staying in the Rocking CR Guest House during the fall. The changing leaves made for a beautiful, picture perfect backdrop. The view of the mountains was breathtaking, glowing red orange at sunrise and shimmering purple at dusk. My girlfriend and I brought our pup and we've never seen her have a better time! The house is set on 5 acres of lush grass and gardens with a small pond; a dog's dream! This location couldn't have been better for us; just off the highway, right outside of Bend. Perfect for some relaxing time away from the crowds. We drove to a waterfall near by where my pup and I got to explore just a short walk from the road. Our country hideaway was just a quick 10 minute drive away from Downtown Bend and the Old Mill district. Walking along the river in Old Mill is a must in the fall! Take some time to enjoy the changing leaves, all different shades of bright orange and red. We tasted local beers at Deschutes and ate a delicious dinner at Greg's Grill. During dinner we were able to overhear an outdoor concert at the amphitheater across the river. What a great spot! The town was very dog friendly, along with the walking and hiking trails. We will definitely be back in the summer! I can imagine a hike in the morning followed by a nice float down the river in the afternoon sun. A big thank you to Caroline and Doug for all the great recommendations! We will see you again soon!  October 20, 2018

My Wife and I stayed at the West Hills HideAway. It is the perfect Bend getaway. It's perfect for the Mtn. Bike crew or the Ski crew as a home base. The house is warm, with plenty of space for two families to vacation together. There's a great rec room where we had our apres ski cocktails and played pool. We love the quick access to trails, Mt. The location of this home is better than you can imagine. Out in the country and well away from neighbors, it is super quiet and tranquil. It is still within 15 minutes of Bend.
Caroline and Doug are nearby and can take care of any requests immediately. Great communication.
Inside is clean and well stocked. The bathroom is roomy and functional, with tub and shower and 2 sinks.
Both bedrooms are clean and roomy as well. Plenty of closet space.
Kitchen is unbeatable and super well equipped.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The hosts were very accommodating. I wanted an earlier check in and they were super helpful and let me arrive three hours prior to normal check in. Kitchen was stocked with all the pots and pans you would need! Bedrooms were clean and well sized for our two adults and two teenagers. Yard was cute and well kept. Bathroom was clean and plenty of towels were provided!! Great place for a peaceful retreat. It was really quiet in the evening so it made it easy to relax.

We stayed at Caroline and Dougs rental in Tumalo and the stay was so awesome that it felt like we were family.  We brought our dear dog Benny for our son and the two beds and bath were perfect and the space outside was very peaceful and relaxing.  Doug and Caroline were so informative of the local venues and the nearby park.  We even borrowed their floats to try the river.

We loved the closeness to Sisters, the nearby Tumalo (the Bite and the pizza place were great visits) as well as nearby shopping and closeness to everything in Bend including the OSU campus.

We definitely would stay here again and really enjoy the hosts as well, as we kind of feel like family.

If you stay here, you will NEVER regret it.  The people, space and views are breathtaking.

This place, the Ranch Guesthouse, is a must especially: Dogs- if you have fur friends this space is heaven! Caroline and Doug's property has a huge HUGE open clean and clear field. We had large and medium sized dogs with us and the guest house was perfect. The guest house had open space for the dogs to relax in. They also have small accommodations like bowls and poop bags just in case. Location- this is a PERFECT spot. It's only 12 min drive from downtown Bend. It's a perfect location to be immersed with the stars at night and wake up to a quiet morning. You rarely hear any car traffic. Hosts: Caroline and Doug are the perfect hosts. Before we arrived Caroline provided us with great tips on what to do for our trip. She was fully transparent and clear about the guest house and the property. She was also amazing welcoming us when we arrived. Doug also gave us great tips and places to visit. He HIGHLY recommended Smith Rock to hike and it did not disappoint. 3/21/2021

My family needed a temporary home after selling our house and Caroline and Doug's Hideaway was perfect. The location is quiet, down the street from a great park (and off leash dog park), and near our favorite market (Newport) and several restaurants. My two boys loved playing in the yard and we were visited by deer many times which was a huge hit to watch from the living room. Our dog loved the fenced yard and we all really made ourselves at home. Caroline was exceptional and always available if needed. The Hide Away was perfect for our family's Thanksgiving holiday. It is halfway between our daughter in Truckee and us in Spokane. We had everything we needed to prepare our Thanksgiving dinner (although an instruction manual for the oven would have been helpful). Our two furry family members greatly enjoyed the fenced backyard and it provided some peace of mind. Our teen grandson liked the rec room with the pool table. We all got in several rounds of pool. There was a table we setup for a jigsaw puzzle that we could add a few pieces to from time to time. There was plenty of space and rooms for all five of us. Easy access to a mall with everything we needed from Trader Joe's for our dinner. Lots of choices for shopping on Black Friday.We also did Abby's pizza, which was excellent and delivered hot & timely even though it was a blizzard. Uber Eats had several good choices and was one of our meals. Our son-in-law and daughter are both avid fly fishing experts and would have liked to have tried out the near-by river.... but weather prevented (although they do fish in the winter at times) We will just have to come back and stay again. Even though the temps were frigid we stayed cozy with ample supply of blankets. We have deer on our property in Spokane but not as up close and personal as the Bend deer. We usually saw them looking in the front window every morning. Thanks to the owners for plowing the snow out of the parking strip and providing us with a snow shovel. Gave us good exercise and fresh air keeping the walkway clear. Only challenge was the floor transition between living room & dining room. My husband has Parkinsons and took him a bit to navigate but we all sort of got used to it. Thanks again for sharing your home. We had a great time. 11/25/2019

Inspiring Ranch Guesthouse
Wonderful stay with our two children, ages 5 and 7 and our small dog. Caroline and Doug are on site and are extremely warm and welcoming. The entire property is fenced in which was perfect for us as I felt the kids and dogs were safe. Beautiful mountain views from the front pasture of the main house. Great location for the HideAway!
This is a nice quiet area of town and easy for all the activities we did while we were here. There were 11 mule deer that came by every day. We really enjoyed the pool table too. The park just down the street was a great place to run the dog.

We made beautiful family memories there and look forward to returning during the different seasons. I come to Bend every few months to visit my parents and have rented quite a few places in the area.  This place is by far my favorite.  When my parents and I pulled into the property, our hosts were there to greet us.  We instantly felt at home. The peace I felt here as I sat on the patio gazing at the mountains and listening to the aspen quake soothed my soul like nothing has in a long time.   They say nothing in life is perfect, but this place sure does come close.

Perfect Stay at The HideAway!
I really, really loved staying at this cottage with my husband and small dog! The house has a nice layout, it's clean, on a quiet street, and has a lovely back yard for little dogs and people alike. I felt at home from the minute we arrived because the house had everything we needed. I especially loved the rec room because (like a total weirdo) I brought my bike and smart trainer with me and this was the perfect set up. The little desk area in the kitchen was perfect for the days when I had to work remotely, but there is also another desk area in the large laundry room. The gas cooktop makes better pancakes than my electric range at home. There was a gas grill in immaculate condition in the back yard as well as a propane fire pit/table. The gardeners come on Thursdays, in case you have your dog with you, and they were very polite and kind. There is plenty of parking in front of the house if you decide not to use the driveway or garage. The owners were responsive and very kind/easy to work with. I'm very much looking forward to renting this cottage again for our vacation next year!!!

I was lucky enough to stay at Caroline's Chalet in Sisters during the most magical snow storm! We woke up to beautiful white powdered sugar, covering the entire property! It was January and there was still a wagon with Santa as driver in the front yard, making for a dreamy winter wonderland...

We had a great time staying here. The house is just a quick jaunt up the hill from a lot of breweries and great dining options. The house is immaculately clean and was a very nice layout. One of our favorite amenities was the pool table, I didn't think that we would play that many rounds of pool but it was great for our group. We liked the suggested restaurants in the house guidebook. Also it was really cool to see the deers in the neighborhood and in the front lawn. We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at the West Hills Hideaway. Caroline and Doug are very good hosts. The house was spacious, clean, well stocked, and located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The fenced-in back yard is big with a nice fire pit. The house is only a block away from a park and just minutes away from downtown Bend. We look forward to staying here again.

Caroline's home is beautiful, clean, in a great location close to everything Bend has to offer and with all of the amenities of your own home! It's close to shopping, restaurants, etc. This home also has a large entertainment room with a pool table, TV, etc. The yard is like an oasis, green, peaceful and quiet. The property here was wonderful, with breathtaking views of the Sisters Mountains. We had a wonderful time in the two bedroom guest home (with everything you could want inside). The town was near by and great for vacation eating & shopping. We were also able to get in some spectacular hiking in the nearby parks and mountains. Thank You Doug and Caroline for providing us with a vacation we will always remember and hope to repeat some time soon. West Hills Hideaway was everything we had hoped for. This home is beautiful and clean and close to all the amenities of Bend, Oregon. We enjoyed golfing in Bend, Sisters and Redmond. The courses were excellent and well priced. Smith Rock State Park was a wonderful place to walk and watch intrepid Rock climbers in action. We also enjoyed the Art Scene in Downtown Bend and attended their First Firday Art Evening. Caroline and Doug make sure it all works smoothly. THank you so much..   October 2018

My son, his wife and my grandson came to visit me from overseas and I wanted to find the ideal vacation rental for their extended stay in Bend. The Rocking CR Guest House was wonderful in every aspect. The Guest House is on a 5 acre ranch which gave my grandson lots of space to run, explore and play. The property is fenced a good distance from any road with traffic, so very safe for him. The Guest House is so comfortable with 2 roomy bedrooms and a great kitchen for cooking (my daughter-in-law loves to cook). It is very quiet on the ranch which is so peaceful for a very restful vacation. We were close to some of the outside sites, like a horse ranch with riding and delicious fruits and vegetables which was so much fun for my grandson. The Guest House is only about a 12 minute drive to downtown Bend for other great activities. The owners of the ranch Caroline & Doug are so thoughtful and made sure the family had everything we needed and provided great information about other things to do in Bend. I would highly recommend the Rocking CR Guest House if you are coming to Bend and are looking for a wonderful vacation rental that feels like home. Sept. 15, 2018

4 adults, 2 teenagers, a large dog, a small dog, and lots of snow: This place was a perfect fit. Being dog-friendly was perfect. The backyard was great for the dogs. The indoors was open, spacious, and warm. The garage easily fit 2 SUVs, though street parking out front was just as easy. Quiet neighborhood with deer walking across the front yard frequently. Close to everywhere we wanted to be. Caroline was helpful and prompt with her communication. We'd love to come back in the summer sometime!  Dec. 23, 2018

We had the opportunity to enjoy 6 nights in this lovely home. My son, daughter, son-in-law and 5 month old grandson joined us. The home is remodeled and lovely. It is appointed with all necessary items. It was so close to Bend highlights and allowed us to travel to lakes for recreating, and hiking. Thanks so Very much.  June 18, 2018
